FROM AIRPORT: The apartment is about a 30-40 minute drive or Uber. The only public transport is the Sky Bus that goes to and from the CBD (not recommended)
TO THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT: The 86 tram is a 2 minute walk from the property where Johnston St meets Smith St. This will take you all the way to the CBD in about 20 minutes. To travel on the tram you need a myki with pre paid money on it. This can be bought from Golden Dollar Lotto (330 Smith St), which is about a 30 second walk from the tram stop. Alternatively, this is a 12 minute drive.
EASIEST WAY TO GET AROUND: The myki you purchase then can be used on any other trams or buses. The public transport system in Melbourne is very good and will take you within walking distance of most destinations. Alternatively, we have Uber here which is an app where non taxi drivers pick you up within 3 minutes, a lot cheaper than taxis.
